Cheap Ways to Clean Your Home
Scrub Brush
ShamWow! Dupe
I was always curious just how well the ShamWow! performed with liquids, but never wanted to pay full price to find out. No, not even the VERY enthusiastic salesman could convince me to purchase it. But when I saw this Handy Shammy at Dollar Tree I knew I wanted to try it for myself. I have to admit, I was impressed by its performance! This little cloth works great in the kitchen for cleaning up spills. Not only did I save money on the actual product, but I save money on paper towels every time I use it!
Cheap Ways to Organize Your Home
Labels
No organization task is complete without labels, so I knew I wanted to snag these Jot labels as soon as I saw them. My only regret in my purchase is that I didn’t buy more! Dollar Tree tends to rotate their product brands and types fairly frequently, so when you find an item you like grab a few extra.
Vacuum Storage Bags
In all my trips to Dollar Tree, this is probably the best money saving product I have seen yet. They sell vacuum storage bags for one dollar when they sell for $5+ elsewhere. All you need to use these bags is a vacuum with a hose attachment. These space savers are perfect for storing and organizing kids’ clothes! I have saved money on the bags themselves and reduced the number of storage bins needed to store the clothes.
Large Plastic Storage Bags
Ever wish you had a large waterproof bag to take to the beach or the pool? Look no further! Dollar Tree sells jumbo storage bags that are perfect for organizing a suitcase, closet, and essential for the beach or pool! The only sizes available are L, XL, and XXL but I only use the big sizes anyway so it works out.
Laundry Bags
If you are anything like me you aren’t willing to spend more than $5 on a laundry bag that only holds dirty clothes. I would much rather spend $1 on a laundry bag from Dollar Tree… and spend the remaining $4 on chocolate, candy, or a movie rental!
Plastic Organizers
Stackable Bins
I thought there was no good way to organize the space under my sink until I found these stackable bins. They work great to house larger items like bandaids, extra toothpaste, or whatever you want them to hold. They don’t come in neutral colors, but I am fine with that as long as it does the job!
Plastic Baskets
I decided I wanted a way to organize under the sink in the master bathroom with neutral colors. Since I needed to organize items by type, I needed a smaller organizer. I came upon these plastic baskets in neutral shades that allowed me to organize everything under my sink.
Cosmetic Organizer
When it comes to cosmetics, I would rather spend my money on the products and not a way to organize them. I wanted a way to display all of my lip products so they were visible and accessible. I found the perfect product at Dollar Tree with the 16-Compartment Plastic Organizer.
Drawer Organizers
There is no better way to organize a drawer than with drawer organizers. Dollar Tree has a nice selection where you can mix and match until you find the perfect fit for your drawers.
Fabric Bins
When I was organizing my daughter’s nursery, I wanted a nice way to organize the space under the diaper changing table. I began looking for fabric bins but quickly found most were priced at $5 each. Since I was looking to purchase ten, I didn’t want to spend $50 on storage alone. I was so excited when I found these fabric bins at Dollar Tree. They come in neutral color options and different heights. They may not be as sturdy as the $5 bins, but I am happy with my end result!
Kitchen Organization
Impromptu Spice Rack
My spice cabinet is very narrow, so I cannot fit a typical spice rack in the small space. Instead of a spice rack, I used these drawer organizers from Dollar Tree. They fit my spices perfectly and fit neatly on my shelves.
Wire Baskets
Before I organized my canned goods in my pantry, I placed all of my canned goods on the shelves so I could see when I was getting low. As you can imagine this system was very cluttered. I found these wire baskets at Dollar Tree which are the perfect width to hold canned goods. I lay the cans on their sides and can fit 4-5 cans in the basket by stacking them on top of each other. Of course, not all of the canned goods can fit in the wire baskets. So I implemented a new system with using locker bins.
Locker Bins
The remaining canned goods are placed in a labeled locker bin on the bottom shelf. When I need to refill my canned goods in the wire baskets, I simply grab from the locker bin below. I can gauge my supply by how low the locker bins get. I have used these locker bins to organize my entire pantry! The best part is, it looks like I spent a fortune but only spent less than $20 on the entire project.
